Everyone who knows me knows I'm sentimental, but...

...this goes way beyond the pale: WSNI (a Philly station) has been playing Christmas songs since waaaaay before Thanksgiving. It's ridiculous and cheesy and cheapening.

What are they trying to gain? How can they get away with this? With what population is this popular (and how far can I get away from this demographic?)?

Uck. Ptooey.

  • You're a mean one-- Mrs. Grinch...

I was afeared to type my Word Verification: quhqup.
I'm not going to be hunted down by some ancient Aztec bird now, am I?

  • A: Oh, yeah. I believe 101.1 went over to all-Christmas later, but still before Thanksgiving, too. Toxic.

Even on the more mainstream stations the best we can hope for is the Waitresses' Christmas Wrapping, which is a nice little song but it wears after a few times. Inevitably someone will put on Springsteen's version of Santa Claus is Coming To Town and I'll be driven to murder.

This might be the year I try to assemble Christmas music I actually like listening to, because I'm not going to find it on these dedicated stations. All I have to do is find some...

C.L: I thought you'd be afraid of growing to 50 ft or so like Apache Chief.
